Order for the Clerk of the
Peace to make out Copys of
Indictmt . for Defendts. altho'
they have not pleaded.

Whereas the Practice therefore used of not granting Copys of Indictments to
Defendants standing Indicted for Trespasses and other Misdemeanors untill such
Defendants had pleaded to such Indictments hath lately been found to be attended
with great Inconvenience and Hardship to such Defendants For remedy
whereof It is Ordered by this Court that the Clerk of the Peace of this County
do make out Copys of Indictments (without the Names of the Witnesses) for every
Defendant that desires the same who now is or hereafter shall be Indicted at
the Sessions of the peace or Oyer and Terminer for the said County although such
Defendant or Defendants have not pleaded to such Indictment or Indictments
(Indictments for Felony only excepted) any former Order or Practice to the
contrary notwithstanding.
