At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Sovereign
Lord the King begun and holden for the County of Middx at
Westminster in the County aforesaid on Monday in the Week next
after the Close of Easter (to wit) the third Day of April in the
twenty Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the Second King of Great Britain Etc and from thence continued
by Several adjornments until this day (to wit) Thursday the
Sixth Day of the Same Month of April in the Year aforesaid
and on the Same day holden by adjornment at Hicks hall in
St. John Street in & for the Said County before Thomas Lane< no role >

and other their Fellows Justices of our Said Lord the King
assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid and also
to hear & determine divers Felonies Trespasses & other
Misdeeds committed in the Same County,

Order for Suppressing
Gaming & Riots Ers on the
Lords day.}

It being Represented unto this Court by Mr. Saunders
Welch
< no role > High Constable of Holborn Divison in this County
that great Numbers of loose and disorderly Persons assemble
in the Out Parts of the Town every Lords day during the
Summer season, and practice Gaming of various Sorts,
Whereby Apprenties and others are drawn in, to the
neglect of the Publick Workship of Almighty God, and into
a Train of evil Consequences attendant thereupon, And
the Said High Constable desiring the Assistance of this Court
to Suppress this growing Evil, This Court for the
preventing Such iniquitous Practice for the future Doth
Order that it be And It is hereby recommended and
referred unto his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for this
County residing in Holborn Division Finsbury Division and
the Tower Division in the Said County to use their Endeavours
to Suppress Such Gaming and Unlawfull Assemblys of loose
and disorderly Persons on the Lords Day within their respective
Districts: And in order thereunto that the Justices of the Peace
or any two or more of them in each of the Said Divisions do by
