and other their Fellows Justices of our Said Lord the King
assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid and also to
hear and determine divers Felonies Trespasses other Misdeeds
committed in the said County.

Order for Suppressing
Disorders at Mile
End Fair.}

Whereas the Church wardens Constable Overseers of the
Poor, Surveyors of the Highways and other Inhabitants of the
Hamlet of Mile End Old Town in the Parish of Saint Dunstan
Stepney otherwise Stebunheath in the Said County have exhibited
their humble Petition unto this Court Setting forth That there was
was a Patent granted to hold a Fair on Michaelmas day only
in every year which for Several years past hath been held in a
Field near the Great Road leading to Bow in the Hamlet of Mile
End Old Town aforesaid And under Colour of the said Patent
great Numbers of loose and disorderly Persons have for many days
in each year assembled and met together in and near to the Said
Field and exhibited Drolls and Shews and have been guilty of
beating wounding and [..] treating of many of his Majesty< no role > 's
good and Sober Subjects tending tending greatly to the corrupting
the Morals of Youth and to the great disquietude and manifest
danger of People that have Occasion to pass and repass that way
but more particularly to the Inhabitants of the said Hamlet And
that to prevent Such Inconveniences for the future the Petitioners
humblyrequest the Interposition of this Court by recommending
the Suppressing the Disorders incident to Such unlawfull Methods to
the Justices inhabiting thereabouts as in Cases of the like Nature this
Court have been pleased to do Or in any other Method they Shall
think proper in order effectually to put a Stop to the Same for the
future, And Whereas all Players of Interludes are deemed and
declared Rogues and Vagabonds and the acting of Such Plays
Drolls and other Shews and the Keeping of Publick Gaming Tables
or Gaming houses are contrary to the Laws and Statutes of this
Realm and do manifestly and directly tend to the encouragement
of Vice and Immorality, and to the debauching and raining of
Servants Apprentices and others as well as to the distarbance of
the publick Peace by occasioning Quarrells, Riots Tumults and
other Disorders, For the preventing of which Mischiefs for the
future, It is thought fit and Ordered by this Court That it be,
And It is hereby recommended and referred unto his Majesty< no role > 's
Justices of the Peace for the Said County of Middx residing in the
Tower Division (in which Division the Said Hamlet doth lye)
or to any two or more of them by Warrant or Order to be granted
