On Monday in the week next after the Feast of the Epiphany to wit
Monday the 11th. day of January in the1741 .

Order for granting a
Bench Warrant agt. Mr.
John Linton< no role > high
Constable of the Liberty of
the Tower for a contempt}

Whereas by an Order made at the last General Session of the peace
holden for the County of Middx & by Adjornment on Wednesday the Ninth day
of December last It was Ordered that John Linton< no role > Gent high Constable
of the Liberty of the Tower in the County of Middx & Should attend the
Court of the then next General Quarter Session of the peace (to wit)
the present General Quarter Session of the peace holden for the Said County at Hicks
hall in St. John Street in the Same County on this present Monday the
eleventh day of January instant at twelve of the clock at Noon of the
Same day to Show cause why he Should not forthwith render an
account of the moneys assessed by an Order and a Rate made at the
General Quarter Sessions of the peace holden for the Said County in
the Month of April last upon the Several Places within the Said
Liberty in the County aforesaid by vertue of the late Art of Parliament
for the more easy assessing collecting and levying of County Rates, and
whether he hath received the Same or any and what part thereof,
Or why he neglects or refuseth to demand and levy the Same as
by the Said Act of Parliament he is empowered to do, And
whereas it appeareth unto this Court at this present Sessions by the
Oath of John Daniel< no role > of the parish of Saint Martin in the Fields in the
Said County that he the Said John Daniel< no role > on the first day of January
instant delivered a true copy of the Said Order of Sessions unto the Said
John Linton< no role > and Shewed to him the aforesaid Order at the Same time,
And the Said John Linton< no role > being now on the Said eleventh day of
January instant at or Shortly after twelve of the clock at Noon of
the Same publickly called in the open Court of this present Sessions
of the peace now holden at Hicks hall aforesaid in & for the Said County
to appear and Shew Such cause as by the Said Order he was required
to do, And the Said John Linton< no role > not attending this Court So to do
It is Ordered by this Court that a Bench Warrant be granted and
Signed in order to take and apprehend the Said John Linton< no role > to
answer for his contempt in not attending this Court pursuant
to the Said Order.

A Bench Warrant being prepared & laid before his Majesty< no role > 's Justices
of the peace now assembled at him present Sessions in Order to be by
them Signed against Mr. John Linton< no role > high Constable of the Liberty
of the Tower in the County of Middx for thehis contempt in not
attending this Court on Monday the Eleventh day of January
instant being the first day of this present Sessions Pursuant to an
Order of General Sessions in Such behalf made whereby he was
required to render an account of the moneys assessed by an Order
