Sum of £56,,7s,,3d which two Sums what he received from
Mr. Harvey and what Mr. Higgs had in his own hands make
together the Sum of £98,,10s,,8d of this Mr. Higgs has applyed
to the Relief of Maimed Soldiers and Marriners the Sum of
£39,,15s,,0d. and for which Said Sum he produced his Vouchers
to the Said Committee and there Still remains in his
hands undisposed of and So admitted by him to the Said
Committee the Sum of £58,,15s,,8d. This Sum the Said Committee
are also of opinion Should be Kept Separate and Applyed to
the proper use of or which it was raised as long as it will
last as there are Several real objects of Charity relieved
thereby and who were formerly admitted as Such by this
Sessions and as this Sum will in all Probability be expended
in about a year and a half and that the book in which all
the Former entries are made relating to this rate be Still
preserved and the remaining Sum undisposed of be entred
in the Said book and when the whole Shall be expended that
the Account be Audited Setled and Signed and the Said book be
then delivered into the hands of the Clerk of the peace to be by
him preserved among the Records of this County-That there
has been no rate for the Relief of Maimed Soldiers and
Marriners Since the year 1732-That it further appears by
the Report of the Committee of the House of Commons that
there remains under this Article in the hands of Thomas
Pindar Esqrs. Treasurer for this Rate for the year 1732 the Sum of
£3,,11s,,10d. which by an Error in his Account appears to be Still
due from him and has not been yet paid over by him to the
Succeeding Treasurer The said Committee have Ordered Mr.
Higgs to Call on him to Show him the Said Report and to
desire payment of the Said Sum-That the next Account
produced to the Said Committee was the Bridge rate by the
Report of the Committee of the House of Commons The
Ballance in Mr. Higgs hands under this Article was the Sum
of £31,,12,,1 there has been since a Rate made for the Sum of
£200 on this rate there has been Collected the the Sum of [..]
£180,,5s,,1 uncollected £19,,14s,,10 the Sum Collected on this
rate and the Sum reported From the House of Commons in
Mr. Higgs hands amounts to £211,,17s,,3d This Sum has been
Paid by Mr. Higgs in Pursuance of Several orders of Sessions
which were produced with the proper Vouchers and receipts
to the Said Committee by Mr. Higgs The Said Mr. Higgs Informed
the Said [..] Committee there were Some parishes who refused to
Pay the Names of the Said Parishes and Sums they were rated
at were Ordered by the Said Committee to be laid before this
Sessions that So Such Order might be made as Shall appear to
