Esqr . Chairman of the
Committee touching the
making Hicks Hall more
commodious & warm
and for Peter Walter< no role > Esqr.
the Clerk of the peace to
pay £100. to Mr. Richard
Jupp Carpenter in part of
the moneys due to him
for work & materials}

Upon Report made unto this Court (ore tenus) by Nathaniel
Blackerby
< no role > Esqr . Chairman of the Committee of his Maties Justices
of the peace of this County appointed by Order of Court to employ &
contract with Workmen for makeing Hicks Hall more commodious
& warm for the winter half yeare, That the Said Committee
had employed one Richard Jupp< no role > Carpenter to doe the work
requisite to be done for making the Said Hall more commodious
& warm as aforesaid with Some other necessary alterations
who had contracted & agreed to find & provide materials and
other necessarys for that purpose and to doe the Said work
according to a plan drawn by Nicholas Hawksmoore< no role > Esqr . (who
was appointed to take a Survey in that behalfe of the aforesaid
Hall) for the Sum of one hundred & forty pounds, being the
Sum limited by Order of Sessions, and the Said Committee not
haveing power to give any more, for the Said work &
undertaking , They nevertheless were of opinion that the
prices in the Said Richard Jupp< no role > 's estimate of the Said work
being low the Sum of five guineas more Should be allowed
to the Said Richard Jupp< no role > in case the Said work be well
performed to the Satisfaction of the Said Committee & the Said
Mr. Hawksmoore which this Court doth agree to & approve,
And the Said Mr. Blackerby further reported that the Said
Richard Jupp< no role > hath done & performed the greatest part of
the Said work, And that the Said Committee haveing appointed
Some other alterations which have been made by the Said
Richard Jupp< no role > beyond what was comprized in the former Orders
(to witt) for two windows on the East Side of the Court, and two
barrs & hinges to the doors in the front of the Court amounting
to the Sum of ten pounds this Court doth agree to & approve
of the Same, whereupon It is Ordered by this Court that the
South Sea Bond or Bonds now in the custody of Peter Walter< no role >
Esqr . Clerk of the peace of this County (which were purchased
out of the Colt money belonging to the Justices of the peace of
the Said County) be forthwith Sold by the Said Mr. Walter,
And that out of the money ariseing by Such Sale the Said
