Court being of Opinion, that the inlightning of the Streets
in a due and proper Manner, will be of great Service
towards preventing of Street-Robbers, and appreahending
the Robbers, doth further recommend to His Majestys
Justices of the Peace for this county, in their Severall
Parishes and Divisions, forth with to proceed
according to Law, against those who neglect to
hand out Lights at or before their Doors, or to
contribute towards any publick Lamps, and to
convict and levy on them the Penalties by Law
appointed, and the said Justices, at their Petty
Sessions, are hereby desired from time to time
to acquint the said Committee, (who are to meet
at Hicks's-Hall as aforesaid) with their Proceedings
touching the Premisses, and to lay before them an
Account of the Names of the Justices of the Peace
attending Such Meetings, and of the Peace-Officers
whom they Shall employ therein, taking particular
Notice of the Zeal and Diligence of each of the
siad Peace-Officers in the Performance of his
Duty, as by the Said Letter is directed And it
is further ordered by this court, for the better
Notification of this Order to all Persons
concerned therein, that this Order be
forthwith published in the Daily Courant.
