Order to exaien
into the fees taken
by Cos. to Justices
of peace.

This Court being informed that Severall Clerkes bel [..]
to his Maties. Justices of the peace for this County we [..]
excessive fees & such as are not warranted by law Doth
Order that it be And It is hereby recomended and
referred into Sr. Henry Fetherston< no role > Bart . Martin Ryder< no role >
Joseph Offley< no role > Narcissus Luttrell< no role > Robert Thornhill< no role > John
Milner Alexander Ward< no role > Col John Ellis< no role > Doyly Michel< no role >
Thomas Burdus< no role > John Crosbie< no role > Jacob Dola Moot< no role >
Blaguy Lawrence< no role > Saint Lo< no role > & Michael Crake< no role > Esqrs . Justices
of the peace for this County & such other of his Maties
Justices of the peace for this County as shall think fit to
be present or any three or more of them to assemble &
meet together at Hickshall in St. John Street in this
County on Friday next at ten of the clock in the forenoon
& at Such other times & places as they shall think fit to
appoint And to convene before them such Clerkes to
his Maties. Justices of the peace for the sd. County as they
Shall think fit, and Order them to lay before the sd.
Referrees a true accompt or list in writing of all
such fees & perquisites as have been usually
demanded & taken by them or any other Clerkes to
any of the Justices of the peace for this County
dureing their knowledge or remembrance, and
upon What accompt & for what particular
busyness each fee is demandable, And the said
Referrees are hereby desired to examin whether
any & which of such fees are legall & reasonable,
Or whether the same be illegall or unreasonable
And if the sd. Referrees shall be of opinion that the
sd. fees or any of them are illegall or unreasonable
Then they are hereby desired to settle & ascertain
such fees as they shall think may be legally and
reasonably taken by the Clerkes to his Maties. Justices
of the peace for this County, And to report their
opinions touching the premisses into this Court to
the end such further Order may be made therein
as this Court shall think just.
