Upon two Indictments for
Forgery

Jacob Canter< no role > the above named Defendant Moses Judah< no role > of New
Buildings Gravel Lane Hounsditch Dealer in Cloths and Jane
Donnell
< no role > -of Camomile Street Bishopsgate Midwife
severally make Oath and say and first the said Jacob Canter< no role > for
himself saith that Sarah< no role > the Wife of the above named Moses Judah
is a very material Witness for him this Deponent upon the Trial of
the above Indictments and without whose testimony he this Deponent
cannot with safety take his Trial upon either of the said Indictments
And this Deponent Moses Judah for himself saith That his this
Deponent s Wife Sarah Judah was on Monday last only about the
hour of five in the afternoon brought to bed and has been since
that time and now is in so very low and weak a state occasioned by
her lying in as aforesaid as to make it impossible for his said Wife
Sarah to be removed to give Evidence upon the Trials of the said
Jacob Canter< no role > at this Session without the utmost danger ofherlosing
her life as he the said Moses Judah has been informed and verily
believes And the said Jane Donnell< no role > for herself saith that she
was on Monday last call'd in to assist as a Midwife at the Labour of
the above named Sarah Judah and that about five o Clock in the
afternoon of the same day she the said Sarah was delivered by her this
Deponent of a Male Child, And this Deponent further saith that
from the experience and Knowledge she has Gain'd in Cases of Lying
in Women she is enabled to Judge of the state of the said Sarah Judah
Andthat shethis Deponent further saith that from the very enfeebled
and weak state and Condition of the Said Sarah Judah occasioned by
her lying Inn as aforesaid she the said Sarah Judah cannot be removed
to give Evidence upon the Triall of the above Indictments without great
danger of her losing her Life, And the said Deponents Jacob Canter< no role >
Moses Judah and Jane Donnell< no role > Severally say that they have
