the said Defendant William Akers< no role > the said James Ivey< no role > and the said
Robert Colliver< no role > were previous to Sepember Sessions last spirited
and are now maintained so to do by the said William Cook< no role > to present the
said James Ivey< no role > and the said Robert Colliver< no role > giving their Testimony on the said Indictment Richard Churchman< no role > for himself saith
that he was present in the defendant William Cooks yard at Lambeth
and heard the defendant William Cook< no role > ask the said Robert Colliver< no role > [..]
concerning an information that the said Robert Colliver< no role > had sworn by
Alderman Curtis charging the said William Cook< no role > with having recieved [..]
Lacks of Wheat that was Stolen by the said William Akers< no role > when this depon [..]
saith that the said Robert Colliver< no role > answered the said William Cook< no role > the
what he had Sworn was strictly true upon this the said William Cook< no role >
exclaimed against the said Robert Colliver< no role > now you rogue you have been
the ruin of me And this deponent further saith that the said William Cook< no role >
seen after came into this deponents Houseand asked himat Lambeth afd
and asked him how he should do away what Colliver had sworn before the
Alderman and intreated this deponent to speak to the said Robert Colliver< no role >
respecting the said informations the said William Cook< no role > expressing himself at
the same time that unless the said Robert Colliver< no role > could be prevailed [..]
to recall what he had sworn before the Alderman and say that he was in
Liquor at the time and did not know what he did he should be undone
And this deponent further saith that he then and there asked the said
Robert Colliver whether he was intoxicated in liquor at the time he gave
his information against his Master Cook and the said Robert Colliver< no role >
declared that what he had Sworn was strictly true and that he was
perfectly sober at the time of his taking such Oath and was he put upon
his Oath again he could not retract from any thing he had before Sworn
And this deponent further saith that it was then proposed that a letter
should be wrote and sent into the Country and put into the Post Office the
directed to the said Robert Colliver< no role > in London to invite him down to recieved
Legacy in order that the said Robert Colliver< no role > should not come forward to
support his information at the Old Bailey or else where against the said
William Cook< no role > And this deponent saith it was further concerted that the
Brother of the said Robert Colliver< no role > was to have attended at the Old Bailey
