Charles Paxton< no role > of the Borough High Street Southwark in the County of Surrey
Pawn broker Robert Orford< no role > of Fleet Market London Pawn broker Thomas Tucker< no role >
of Holborn London Upholsterer and William Addington< no role > of Brown low Street
Holborn Hair Dresser severally make Oath and say and first these Deponents
the said Charles Paxton< no role > , Robert Orford< no role > and Thomas Tucker< no role > for the unless severally
say that they these Deponents are bound by Recognizance to give Evidence
before the Grand Jury for the City of London on a Bill of Indictment against
Ruth Dean< no role > and John Dean< no role > for Feloniously receiving Goods the property of John
Dobinson at the Session [..] held for the said City in the Month of October one
then said seven hundred and eighty six And there Deponents further say that
at the said Session Mary Corrall was tried and Convicted for feloniously
Stealing the said Goods and these Deponents attended in order to give Evidence
against the said Mary Corrale and the Deponent Charles Paxton< no role > was Examined
as a Witness on the said Trial but the Grand Jury for the said City having been
discharged before the Trial of the said Mary Corrale< no role > the said John Dobinson< no role > did
not prefor a Bill of Indictment against the said Ruth Dean< no role > and John Dean< no role >
at the said Session and the said Ruth Dean< no role > and John Dean< no role > were ordered to remain
in Custody until the Session in December last (which session began as these Deponents
have been informed and believe on the thirteenth day of December one thousand
seven hundred and Eighty six at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey ) in Order to be
prosecuted for feloniously receiving the said Goods stolen by the said Mary Corrale
And these Deponents further severally say that the said John Dobinson informed these
Deponents that he would give them notice when they should attend Pursuant
to such their Recognizance to give Evidence before the Grand Jury against the said
Ruth Dean< no role > and John Dean< no role > at the said Session in December last and these Deponent
therefore fully expected to have received notice from the said John Dobinson< no role > when he
Meant to prefer an Indictment against the said Ruth Dean< no role > and John Dean< no role >
in the said Session in December last but there Deponents having received no Notice
from the said John Dobinson< no role > they afterwards made Enquring for the said John
Dobinson and were informed that he was dangerously ill during the time the said
session was held in the Month of December last and died on or about the nineteenth
day of the said Month of December an this Deponent the said William Addington< no role >
for himself saith that he was well acquainted with the said John Dobinson< no role >
and that the said John Dobinson< no role > was during the [..] beginning of the said Month
of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty in an ill state of Health and that
on the fifteenth day of the said Month of December the said John Dobinson was
taken dangerously ill and died on the nineteenth day of the said Month of
