saith that the then Lord Mayor and other his Majestys Justices of the
peace for the said City in Sessions assembled did soon after
(by Force and Virtue of the several Acts of Parliament enabling
them in that Behalf) duly make their Order or Orders of Sessions
and issue the Proper precept and precepts for raising levying
and collecting on the Inhabitants at Large of the said City of
London the said Sum of Eighteen Thousand Nine Hundred
and seventy Four Pounds to be paid to the said Thomas
Langdale for his said Damages and Costs according to the
Directions of the said several Acts of parliament, and that
Rates being made on the Inhabitants the Monies thereby
assessed and collected were (as this Deponent was
informed and verily believed) by the Collectors paid into the
Chamber of the said City of London ; but such Rates and
Collections turned out insufficient for paying the said
Thomas Langdale< no role > the whole of his said Damages and
Costs; for that the Monies raised and collected for the said
Thomas Langdale< no role > and paid into the said Chamber of
London, did but amount to the Sum of Eighteen Thousand
Six Hundred and Fifty Pounds, Sixteen Shillings and Eight
Pence Whereby the same was deficient for dischargeing the
said Thomas Langdale< no role > 's Damages and Costs by the Sum
of Three Hundred and Twenty Three Pounds, Three Shillings
And Four Pence And this Deponent Further saith That
the said Thomas Langdale< no role > did on or about the Twelfth of
February One Thousand seven Hundred and Eighty Two
by Virtue of certain other Orders of Sessions receive out of
the said Chamber of London the said Sum of Eighteen
Thousand Six hundred and Fifty Pounds, Sixteen Shillings
and Eight Pence and no more towards his the said
Thomas Langdale< no role > 's Damages and Costs And this
Deponent further saith That the said Thomas Langdale< no role >
