The several Informations of Elizabeth Wright< no role >
Elizabeth Clarke< no role > and Ann Arnold< no role > and George
Meacham
< no role > Taken the 4th day of November 1785

The said George Meacham< no role > upon his oath Saith That about
the hour of 9 o Clock on Tuesday night last as he was going
down Holborn and near to Southampton Buildings he mett one
William Hendrick< no role > and James Smith< no role > who were in Company
together and one of them said there is Mitchell upon which he
turned Round and they both ran away That he Inspected They had
Stolen something and therefore he called Stop Thief That Smith
fell down and Threw a Bundle down the Area of some House
in Southampton Buildings That he took Smith into Custody
and the Bundle was delivered to him which appeared to be a Cotton
Gown and Pettycoat That he Conveyed Smith before a Tushed who
Committed him and the Gown was Advertised and afterwards owned
The said Elizabeth Wright< no role > upon her Oath Saith That the said
Gown and Pettycoat is her Property and was left at the House of
Mrs Clarke No 101 Fetter Lane to wash and Mangle.
The said Elizabeth Clarke< no role > upon her oath Saith That
She received the said Gown and Pettycoat to Wash which
She did and after She had Washed it She sent it to a Woman
to Mangle but She did not see it afterwards until this
day and that the Gown and Pettycoat now Produced is the
Identical property She received and Washed as aforesaid
The said Ann Arnold< no role > upon her Oath Saith That
She lives in Fetter Lane in the City of London That about
the hour of half past 8 o Clock in the Evening on Tuesday the 1st.
of Novr. Instant Frances Clarke< no role > the Daughter of the abovenamed
Elizabeth Clarke< no role > brought the said Gown and Pettycoat home to her
house That the said Elizabeth Clarke< no role > (who is her Lodger) not
being at home she desired the Child to put the same on the
draws in the back room adjoining to the Shop which looks into a
certain Place called Rawen Passage which said Gown and
Pettycoat was Stolenout of the said Room in about Ten Months
afterwards That there is a door in the said Passage which was locked and
when the Gown and Pettycoat was put on the draws as aforesaid
the Window was Shut down Closeand
