that he supposed she would lodge in his House that Night and therefore
recommended her to put the Notes in her Pocket and put the Pocket
under her head. That the next morning this Informant gave said
Barlow the eleven Notes before mentioned which he put into the
same Drawer with the 44 Guineas. That Informant proposed taking
a Lodging at Hoxton to be out of the way - but said Barlow
observed that "Hoxton was too near" - Informant proposed Edmonton
when said Barlow replied that "Edmonton would do" and she
accordingly went thither on the [..] same morning - That the next
Evening said Barlow's Sister called on Informant at Edmonton and
told her that "Payne was not taken" which induced Informant to
return immediately to Barlow's - That Informant asked said Barlow
for the Notes and Money - That he took Informant to his Mothers in
Saint Catharine where, he gave her 44 Guineas - then took her to the
White Hind in Bishopgate Street where, he gave her 4 Notes only
instead of 11, viz three of £10 and one of £20 wrapped in paper.
That on her coming home and discovering he had only given her 4
Notes, she returned to said Barlow and asked him how he could
serve her so - when he damned her for crying out bid her hold
her tongue, and pretended that the persons who had them, were
out, and not be found - That said Barlow hath never returned
Informant all or any of said 7 Notes since, but hath kept them
as she believes for his own use. That said Edward Payne< no role >
and this Informant lodged to go there for several Nights at said Barlow's
house, with his privity and knowledge, between the time of his robbing
said Ship and his Escape to Lynn - And that said Barlow harboured
relieved comforted and assisted him, knowing him to have done and
committed said felony.
