The humble Petition and appeal of the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Saint James
within the
Liberty of City of Westminster
in the
Country of Middlesex
Sheweth
That by Virtue of an order under the Hands and
Seals of
Robert Peckham< no role >
and
John Hart< no role >
Esquires
two of His
Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for the City of London
and Liberties
thereof (one being of the Quorum) bearing Date the 15th. day of
January last
William Chivings< no role >
and
Ann< no role >
his Wife
were removed
and conveyed from the Parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
London
to the said Parish of Saint James
Westminster
as the
place of their last legal Settlement whereby your Petitioners
conceive themselves aggrieved
Your Petitioners therefore humbly appeal
to this Court against the adjudication of the
said two Justices and their said Order and
pray that the Hearing and Determining of
the said Appeal may come on at this
present General Session
And your Petitioners will ever pray Etc.
