of Cannons near Edgware taken before
me this 6th: day of October 1783.
Who being on Oath say and first the said Alexander Dewar< no role >
says that as he was travelling in a Post Chaine of Lord Lewisham
between the 6 & 7 Mile stones on the Edgware Road
, about
6 o'Clock in the Evening of Tuesday the 9th: of Septemr. last
a Man on horse back, presented a Pistol to the said Henry
Dyton< no role >
(his Postittion) bid him stop then rode up to the
Chain window and demanded this Informant's Money
and upon this InformantsHenrypresenting a Gun
at him,
he Rode off. And this Informant Henry Dyton for himself
says that he drove the Post Chaise at this time and does
verily believe that a Person now present who calls himself
John Smith< no role >
is the identical Person who stopped him, presented
a Pistol and demanded Mr. Dewar's money as aforesaid
