this 26th day of May 1783

Informant Acheson Maxwell< no role > saith that between the Hours of three
and four o' Clock Yesterday Evening he saw two Men about the Door
of Mr Jacombs House in Lawrence Poultney Hill, that soon afterwards
the Door opened from within and the two Men thereupon went into the
House and came out in about fifteen Minutes the one with a [..]
Red Leather Trunk and a Parcel under his Arm and the other a large
Parcel which are the same as are now Produced that upon the
Men coming out of the House they immediately went down Duckfoot
Lane across Thames Street and down Cole Harbour , that Informant
suspecting theythewere Thives pursued them and cried stop Thief
That the Red Leather Trunk was dropt in Cole Harbour and taken
up by Informant who still pursued the Men but lost sight of them
upon then twining into Allhallows Lane

William Henshaw< no role > saith that being at Cole Harbour Stairs
Yesterday Evening about a quarter after three he heard the
Informant Maxwell any stop theif and pursuing the
Prisoners who were then alone at the Top of Cole Harbour
