The Examination of Burton Wood< no role >
apprehended by Thomas Gates< no role > , City Marshal, and brought
before me James Townsend< no role > Esquire , one of his Majesty< no role > 's
Justices of the Peace for the said City of London , Who
saith, that he was released From Confinement on board of the Hulk at Woolwick [..]
where he suffered Imprisonment three Years for a
Felony, the Expiration of which was in July last was
twelve MonthsSays, that he hath constantly ever
since worked with his Brother George Wood< no role > , a Tripeman
in Woods Close, and been paid Fifteen Shillings a
WeekSays, that one William Jones< no role > , a Cooper, asked
him to go along with him, for he wanted to buy some
her hoopsSays, that they went together into upper
Thames Street , and that he was present, when Jones bought
the iron hoops now produced, and he saw Jones pay
some Money for themSays, he believes the Warehouse
where the hoops were bought, belongs to Mr Birdoe
and his Partners in TradeSays, that he lodges in
a House near the red Lyon in Old Street that he
has occupied one Room in that House about thirteen
Months, at the weekly Rent of sixteen Pence
Says, that he has a Wife and three Children in that
Roomthat the Name of his Landlord is John
Sugar Esquire of Bethnall Green .
