The joint and several Information of Andrew
Stevenson of London Wall, in the City of London , Taylor
and Salesman , Mary Bankes< no role > and John Sparkes< no role > , Servants
to the said Andrew, Stevenson< no role > , and Richard Woolley< no role > of
Aldermanbury London , Gentleman Who being on Oath
severally say And First the said Andrew Stevenson< no role >
for himself saith, that about half past eight O'Clock on
Saturday Night last, the Prisoner at the Bar , Francis
Nichols,
< no role > came with another Person into his Step, and
the Prisoner said "We want a Waistcoat a Piece"
Informant threw a Parcel of Waistcoats faced with
Sattin on the Counter Informant whilst he was
serving the Prisoner and his Companion, saw the Carter
take a bundle containing at least one Waistcoat,
off the Counter, and put the same under his Coat
Informant instantly was going round the Counter to
[..] the other Man, but he opened the street
Door and run away Informant sent for a Constable
to secure the Prisoner, and in the mean time, he
laid down a Guinea on the Counter, and offerd to
pay for two Waistcoats the Prisoner said, he saw
the Man who came in with him, take one Waistcoat,
and he would pay for two, if Informant would
set him at Liberty Soon afterwards, the Prisoner
attempted to escape, and Informant run after him,
and apprehended him, and the Prisoner cut part
of the little finger of the left hand off.

And the said Mary Barkes< no role > for
herself saith, that she saw the Prisoner offer the
other Informant, a Guinea, to pay for two Waistcoats,
and that the Prisoner said he saw his Companion take one Waistcoat
off the Courter

And the said John Sparkes< no role > ,
for himself saith, that he saw the Man not taken,
take something off the Counter, and put it under
this Coat says that his Master, Mr. Stevenson,
was coming round the Counter, and he this Informant
perceived the Prisoner give the other Man a touch
on his Peg. by which he this Informant understood
