The joint and several Informations of Joshua
Humphreys of Bear Yard Drury Lane in the County
of Middlesex Butcher , Lucretia the Wife of William
Green of the same place Newsman, and Simon Spicer< no role >
of little Britain London Mathematical Instrument
maker , who being on Oath severally say as follows
and first this Informant Joshua Humphreys< no role > for himself
that the prisoner now under Examination to wit Charles
Thompson, and a Woman named Mary< no role > who now says passed for his wife
and at the time undermentioned also passed for his wife
came to lodge as this Informants House in Bear Yard
aforesaid on the seventh day of August last past, and
continued to lodge there until the twenty ninth day of
the same Month, that on that day he the said Charles
Thompson suddenly left this Informants House, without
giving him any Notice of his Intention of so doing and
without pay him any money that was due

That it wasforcustomary for said prisoners of ten to dine
with him and his Family, at a Rate agreed upon for that
purpose, and that on the same twenty ninth day of
August the said Mary Thompson< no role > dined with him this
Informant and his Family about two O'Clock in the
day and about four O'Clock of that day the said Charles
Thompson
< no role > came home and saying he had not dined
Informant desired said prisoner Mary to peele a Cucumber
for her Husband to eat with some Lamb which the Family
had before dined off, that he observed her in great Confusion
whilst she was about this, that this Informant brought up
the Lamp and want down Stairs, and being in the Room
under them he and his Wife through they heard then both walking about the
Room instead of sitting to dine, and in a few Minutes said
prisoner Mary brought down the Lamb, and this Informant
directly went up to take away the rest of the Things and
as soon as he got into the Room, he missed a gold repeating
Watch which hung at the Mantle piece of the Room
where the said Thompson had dined, and found that
both the said prisoners had then quitted the Room, on
which he called to his Wife to know if she had removed
her [..] watch any where (meaning the said gold repeating
watch, and she declaring she had not, he this Informant
then began to fear that he was robbed, and he and his Wife
