Middlesex to Wit

The Information of Edward Walter< no role > of Newbury in the
County of Berks Gardener David Prothers< no role > , Charles
Jealous and John Dixon< no role > taken before me this second
day of October 1781

Who being on Oath says and first the said Edward Walter< no role >
says, that about six Weeks ago, he came from Newbury to Mr Pengry's< no role >
a Copper Warehouse, on Snow Hill , with a Waggon and a Cart, loaded with
Copper; That when he arrived at Mr. Pengrys, he was directed by one
of Mr. Pengrys Clerks to go with the same to a Wharf below London
Bridge, with a person now present who calls himself Thomas Holder< no role >
That in coming back again to the said Mr. Pengrys for the Money; the
said Thomas Holder< no role > told him, that he worked in Pengrys Shop and
asked him "if he would have any Half pence" that on this Informants
telling him he did not want any Halfpence she said Holder told him
he would let him have thirty shillings for a Guinea, if he would
take a good many That he (this Informant) then told him to bring
him three or four guineas Worth [..] and he immediately went away and said,
that he would bring them to him in three or four Minister That he
accordingly came to this Information (in company with another person
now present who calls himself Richard Jones< no role > ) That said Richard
Jones brought with him to the said Mr Pengry's Door five Guineas worth
of counterfeit Halfpence and the said Thomas Holder< no role > , took said Money
from said Jones, and put it into this Informants Waggon That
he then went into the Three Tuns Alehouse with said Holder and
hepaid him five Guineas for the same and in going Home he examined said Parcel
of Halfpence and found that it contained seven pounds ten shillings
in counterfiet Halfpence That on Friday last was sevennight he came again
to Town with his Waggon and Cart to Mr. Pengryl as aforesaid, where
he observed said Holder in Mr. Pengrys Shop who immediately followed
him out and asked him, if he would not have some more Halfpence
andon which he told him that he would take three or four Guineas worth more
That said Holder then went for said Halfpence and returned in
