being Sworn and Examined before the
Right Honble Brackley Kennett< no role >
Esquire Lord Mayor of the City of London
and Robert Beckham< no role > Esquire one of
the Aldermen of the said City
the 14th.
day of June 1780

Saith that on Thursday the Eighth Instant between 6 & 7 o'Clock
in the Evening he discovered the Prisoner Thomas Followeth
at the Cole Door of New Gate Examinant asked the Prisoner
what he was about. That the Prisoner had a Bar of Iron
in his Hand and that he Examinant saw the Prisoner
wrenching the Staple of the Lock of one of the Colls Door with
the Bar . That Examinant askt Prisoner of he wanted to
Burn the Place Down that the Prisoner answered what was
that to himThat Examinant saw the Prisoner Taken
up by John Bryant< no role > and some other Person
