The several Information of James
Wallis Street
< no role > , of Bucklers busy London
Stationer and Edward Lane< no role > Porter to the
said Mr. Street, against Thomas Hilliard< no role >
who is charged before me with having
wilfully set Fire to his Dwelling house
No. 6 Bird in Stand Court in the said City
Who on their Oath say as follow and first
this Informant James Wallis Streetfor
himself saith that on Friday & last about
twelve of the Clock at night, [..] this
Informant with several other neighbours
went to the House where the prisoner
Hilliard then lodged that he then heard
the said Thomas Hilliard< no role > declared that the
Devil had been walking with him for a
Fortnight or three Week, past, that the
Reason why he had done it, (under standing
and knowing at this time that the Lonver [..]
was about his setting Fire to his House) was
to get rid of his Lodgers, that as he was
going out of the House they should not
stay, upon which he was ordered to be sent
to the Compter that night, and the next
Morning, on being asked what he had
done with the Key he said he had (being
behind a bottle Rack in Wm. Wenklan's
Collar, on this he this Informant went
and gave Directions to the other Informant
Edward Lane< no role > to go and look for the Key
behind such bottler RackAnd this
