according to the Custom of the sd. Ward the Men inhabiting & resiant paying Scot &
bearing Lot within the same Ward for the time being were Yearly during the whole time
afsd. afsd. and accustomed and ought to appoint & choose divers persons then Inhabiting and
resiant & paying Scot & bearing Lot within the Ward afsd. Constables in & for the same
Ward for the preserving the Peace of the Lord the King and for the apprehending of
Rogues Vagabonds & other suspicious Persons within the Ward afsd. for the Public
Good which Paid Persons so as afsd: appointed & chosen were used & accustomed and
ought to hold the same Office for the Year then next ensuing and untill other Persons
shod. be elected into the sd. Office and also were used & accustomed and ought on the
Monday next after the Feast of the Epiphany next after their sd. Election at the Guild
of the sd. City of London in the Court then & there hold before the Mayor & Alderman of the said
City for the time being for all the time afosd. to take their Corporal Oath for the during
Execution of the said Office of Constable And that the sd. Hugh Johnson< no role >
on the said 21st: day of December in the 19th Year afsd. in the Court of Wardmote
afsd. then held for the said Ward of [..] Langbourn within the sd. Ward to wit
