Ananious Modigliani< no role > of Clements Lane London Merchant Maketh
Oath and saith that in the Month of November last he was Bound by
recognizance to prosecute one James Crayden< no role > for picking this
Deponent pocket of a Handkerchief at the then next Session to be
held at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey on Wednesday the third day of
December last And this Deponent further saith that he did on
pursuance of his said recognizance attend at the Sessions House in
the Old Bailey on the said Wednesday the third day of December in
order to prosecute the said James Craydon for the said offence and
that he did on the same Wednesday take out a Bill of Indictment
against the said James Craydon which Indictment this Deponent
imediately took up to the Grand Jury in hopes to has been
examined upon the same and this Deponent saith that he was
there informed by the officer at the Grand Jury Room Door that
there was so much Business as would make it impossible for him
to be examined on that day when this Deponent taking that he
was under the necessity of going out of Town the next day
was further informed that the Jury would not break up till
the Friday at the usual time which this Deponent was
informed and believed was three of the Clock and this Deponent
further saith that he did not attend on the Thursday but that
and one on the Friday for the purpose of giving Evidence
against the said James Craydon before the Grand Jury upon
the same Indictment this Deponent upon the information which
he had received as aforesaid understanding and verily becomings
