day of April 1778

Who being upon Oath says that in the Month of December last
he was sent by the said Messrs. Jones Mayrick & Co's. Shopman with
a parcel of Haberdashers Goods to [..]
Richard's Coffee house
in Fleet Street
in Consequence of an Order now produced signed
J Williams which Order had been received at the said Jones
Meyrick & Co's Shop that he this Informant was directed
to bring back the Money for the said Goods, that at Richards:
Coffee house he found a person now present who calls himself
John Williams< no role >
who ordered this informant to open the parcel
& see whether the Articles were right, that when the Parcel
was opened the saidRichardsWilliams said there was one Article [..]
that the saidRichardsWilliams ordered this Informant to go back &
fetch the Article he mentioned, that this Informant accordingly
went back to his Masters Shop leaving the said Parcel
of Goods on the Table in the Coffee room, that when he
returned to the Coffee house
the said John Williams< no role >
was gone
and the parcel also, and this Informant does verily
believe that the said John Williams< no role >
feloniously took and
carried away the said Parcel of Goods
