Quarter Session of the Peace Assembled

The Humble Petition and Appeal of the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
Gidding Magna in the County of Huntingdon

Sheweth


That by an Order under the hands and Seals of the Right
Honble John Wilkes< no role > Esqr . Lord. Mayor of the City of London and Frederick
Bull
< no role > Esqr . one of the Aldermen of the sd. City two of his Majestys Justices of
the Peace for the City of London and Liberties thereof (one being of the Quorum)
bearing Date the Fourteenth day of Decr. One Thousand Seven hundred
and Seventy four Ann Ward< no role > widow of William Ward< no role > deced and her
three Children William< no role > Aged four Years Ann< no role > Aged Two Years and John< no role >
Aged Ten Weeks were removed from the Parish of St. Botolph Aldersgate
without in the said City of London and on the Twenty fifth day of January
then next delivered to one of the Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Gidding
Magna as the Place of the last legal Settlement of the said Ann Ward
and her Street Children Whereby your Petitioner Conceive themselves
to be Aggreived and against the said Order do Appeal Your Petitioners

Therefore humbly Pray that a day may
be Appointed to hear and determine the
Matter touching the said Appeal

And Your Petitioners shall ever Pray Etc.
