taken before me this 13th. day of
July 1775
.
Who being upon Oath says that about fine weeks ago he got in Company at
the Magpye & Punch Bowl
in Fenchurch Street
London, with William White< no role >
now present and another man whose name he knows not. that this
last mentioned person betted this Informant two Guineas that he could
not produced twenty Guineas in one hours time. that this Information
in order to Win the said Wager went to his Lodgings and fetched a
£20 Bank Note and one Guinea which he Immediately brought
to the Magpye & Punch Bowl aforesaid or some house near it and Shewed the same to
the said William White and his Companion, that the said White desired
this Informant to give him the said Bank Note and the Guinea which
he did. that Assoon as he received them he gave the said Bank
Note and Guinea to his Companion who Immediately ran away
as did also the said White. And this Informant further says
that the said White and his Companion feloniously Stole
his said Bank Note and Guinea.
