Gabriel Johnson< no role > Servant to Joshua Hill< no role > of Bagino Court Newgate Street
London (Smith maketh Oath and saith that he this Deponent in pursuance
of a Recognizance entered into by him attended at the Sessions held for the City
of London at the Sessions House in the Old Bailey London in the Month of
July last and gave Evidence before the Grand Jury on a Bill of Indictment
then preferred against one Thomas Flathers< no role > for Stealing a Handkerchief
the Property of one William Parroll< no role > and such Bill of Indictment being
found a True Bill he this Deponent with the said Prosecutor attended on
the Wednesday and also on the Thursday in the said Sessions during
the time the London Sury were in Court in order to give Evidence on the
Trial of the said Thomas Flathers< no role > but the same did not come on
And this Deponent saith that he attended at the said Session on the
Friday following and stayed there till about two o Clock in the Afternoon
and on examining the List of London Prisoners for Trial that Day found
that the said Thomas Flathers< no role > stood about the sixth or seventh Name
on such List after the Name of a Woman And this Deponent having
been ordered by his said Master to put up some Lamp Irons near
Blackfryars Bridge that Afternoon on account of some Robberies
having been then lately before committed by Reason of there being no Lamps
there as this Deponent was informed he this Deponent went to put up
such Lamp Irons and stayed for the space of two Hours thinking that
the said Trial of the said Thomas Flathers< no role > would not during that
time come on And this Deponent saith that he returned to the said
Sessions House about four of the Clock in the Afternoon and enquired
of one of the Turnkeys belonging to the Keeper of Newgate who then
attended the said Court and was by him informed that a Woman whose
Name he then mentioned then was on her Trail which Name this
Deponent then remembered was the same Name that stood before
the Name of the said Thomas Flathers< no role > on the said List and this
Deponent saith that he then enquired of the said Turnkey whether
the said Thomas Flathers< no role > was Tried and he informed this Deponent
that the said Thomas Flathers< no role > had been Tried before the Woman
