Who being upon Oath say and first the said William Hampton< no role >
for himself says that he has lived Servant
with Mr. John Gross< no role >
late of Garret
in Surry
about three Years partly is Driver of a
Cart
and partly as an Apprentice
that in the Beginning of
April last as he was sharing his Master the said John Gross< no role >
he
asked this Informant whether he was willing to go abroad
saying he would make a Man of him says he this
Informant consented, says he carried at three different
Times to Mr Seath Linen Draper [..] near Westminster Bridge
in the Months of March and April last between two & three
hundred pieces of Cottons & Linens from the said John Gross< no role >
's
by the Orders of the said John Gross< no role >
, says he also carried
above a hundred pieces of Linens & Cottons to Wm Bedwell< no role >
's
in Standgate StreetWestonLambeth some of which were printed
& some unprinted and when the said Goods were put into Boxes
he carried them to the Water Side & put them in a Boat in Order
to be put on board a Ship the Name of which he has since
been informed is the John Galley< no role >
, says that about a Fortnight
ago he went to Deal with Thomas Bedwell< no role >
and William Lange< no role >
a Block Cutter
where
he met with the said John Gross< no role >
and staid there until the said
John Gross< no role >
and Thomas Bedwell< no role >
were apprehended
and the saidWilliam
John Bryant< no role >
for himself says that he lately
lived Servant with the said John Gross< no role >
, that on the Monday
that the said John Gross< no role >
left home in Order to go abroad he
this Informant carried about 60 pieces of presented Cotton
and Linens from the said John Gross< no role >
