The King agt. John Williams< no role > for an Assault

Mathew Leman< no role > of Hounsditch London Cook and William
Ayres
< no role > of the same Place Sawyer severally make Oath and
say that they these Deponents in the Month of December left
became bound for the Appearance of the said Defendant John
Williams at the them next General Quarter Session of the peace
to be holden for this City in the Month of January to answer the Complaint of Susanna
Booth for an Assault And these Deponents further say that
before the said Session the said Defendant was ariested for Debt
and removed to the Prison of the Kings Bench and therefore
the said Defendant did not appear at the said Session to plead
to an Indictment which the said Susanna [mark] Booth< no role > had presened
against the said Defendant. And these Deponents further say that
the said Defendant soon after the said Session informed these
Deponents that the had made up the Affair with the said Susanna
Booth which these Deponents verily believed to be true and those
Deponents were in hopes the said Defendant had taken Care to
discharge their said Recognizance but to their great Surprize
they have lately been informed that he neglected to do the same
And these Deponents say that the said John Williams< no role > still
remains a Prisoner of Debt in the said Prison charged in
Execution and these Deponents have not since such Information
been able to procure a Writ of Habeas Corpus to remove the said
Defendant to plead to such Indictment of this present Sessions but
intend to do the same at the next Session of this Honourable Court
will be pleased to respite their said Recognizance.
