The fifth time Davis he Came to me Wednesday following and told me
his Mother was very Ill, and no better, asked me to get him some
Old Hock which I said did not know, or Madeira which I
could not conveniently get then but first opportunity would
and appointed to Leave at the Oyle Shop down the Lane
or Green Shop up the Lane, but the came for it himself and
took it from me in the Passage I asked him wither there
was not Money to Come for ye Liquors he had had and he said
I was to have a Watch for which he was to pay half money
and the other Half Liquor, afterward he applied again for
more, but I would not Consent to do it again, told him I was
afraid John Curtis< no role > would bitray us and he replied he would
get him to be Concerned in something of the Same Kind, and
he went to John Curtis< no role > and promised him a pair of Silver
Buckles on which John gave him about a Pint of Holld. Ginn
all the Returns I had from Davis was a pair of Bristoll Stones
Stees Buttons two Glass Cannisters and a Handkerchief
asked abt: the Watch he said there was Twenty Shillings wantg
yet and that he had the Watch and would give it me if
I would give him the Remainder of the Money
