Who being upon Oath says that he knows John Allard< no role >
late of Kentish
Town
and now in Custody, says that on Tuesday Evening last about
five o'Clock he met said Allard by appointment at Owens Coffee
House
in Holborn
, says that they staid a few Minutes only at the
said Coffee House, for that said Allard desired This Informant to go
with him to the blue Posts
an Alehouse in Holborn
, for that he had
something to say to him, says they then went to the blue Posts
accordingly, says that after some Conversation said Allard Told this
Informant that he understood that he was a little Straitened for
Money, and finding that he was an honest Man wou'd assist
him with some and asked him what [..] Sum he wented, to which
this Informt. that about 15 Pounds [..] wou'd be of Service to him
says sd. Allard agreed to advance him [..] 15 Gs. for six Months
and then a [..] there deliver [..] to this Informt. a Promissory
Note of Blands & Co. Bankers for £100 and desired him to get
it Accepted, discounted or Negociated in what manner he this
Informant thought proper for his own immediatelyuse and to be
accountable to said Allard for the overpluss, says the next day
to this Informt. on offering said Bill at Blends for Acceptance it
was stopts which he went [..] and acquainted said Allard with
at the Ball Inn in Leadenhall Street
, who declined going to Mr.
Bland to clear up the matter, but went with this Informant
to a Coffee House and there wrote a Letter directed to Mr. Bland
