The Information of Mr. Joseph Cotton< no role >
at Mr. Partridges in Aldermanbury
taken before me this 3d. day of
Sepr. 1762

Who being upon Oath says that on Saturday last the 28th. [..]
of Augt. he received by a Porter a Letter dated Woodford from the above
Mr. Partridge as he then imagined, which Letter contained
a Draft on Mr. Partridges Banker for £1000 and also
aDraftBill upon Sir Saml. Fludyer< no role > for £350, says that
it has since appeared that the said Draft and the said Bill
were both Forged and Counterfeited with Intent to Defraud
the said Mr. Partridge, says that in the above Lre. he this
Informt. was desired to receive the Money for the above Draft
in Bank himself, and to leave the Bank Note at the Barr of
Sams Coffee House for Mr. Rouse, says that the same Evening he
Paid in the said Draft at Messrs. Amyands & Co. Bankers [..]
[..] and a recd a Bank Note for £1000 for it and left it at
the Barr of Sams Coffee House the next day about one o'Clock
and has since been informed that it was delivered to a Porter
about four the same day, says that one Joseph Kello< no role > Clerk
to Mr. Moore of Lothbury , on the Thursday before this Transaction
asked this Informt. to lett him see Mr. Partridges Bankers Book
which he did & by which he [..] saw that [..] Mr. Partridge had
between [..] two and three Thousand Pounds in his Bankers hands, and that the
said Jos: Kellow< no role > behaved in other respects in so suspicious
a manner as to give this Informt. great reason to suspect that
he was concerned in forging [..] & Publishing the aforesaid Draft
and Bill, and that said Kello is now in Custody for the same
and this Informt. farther says that he likewise Knows John
Kello
< no role > Brother to the said Joseph, who [..] is a Man of a very
bad Character, that he was a Constant Companion [..] to his said
Brother, and says that upon enquiry he has found and
