1761 on an Inquisition taken on View of the Body of
William King< no role > lying dead at the Parish of Saint Martin
Ludgate in the Ward of Farringdon Without London before

Thomas Bradborne< no role > of White Fryars London
Carpenter being sworn and examined upon his
Oath saith that on Tuesday lastaboutbetween the
Hours of 5 & six in the afternoon this Deponent
Michael Newton< no role > , Charles Metcalf< no role > , Thomas Sears< no role > ,
[..] William Wilson< no role > , and one Killingsworth
were present at an House belonging to Mr.
Dalmatory then repairing when William King< no role >
the deceased and Thomas Sears< no role > having word
together and John Garne< no role > Hinterfering between
the deceased & Sears, several more words [..]
between the deced & Garnett: that the deced having
broke two Chissely belonging to Garnett Garnett
abused the deced by calling him Theif & giving
him other opprobions language on which Dept.
Steped in between the deced & Garnett that Garnett
had listed up an Hammer Fore sevl. times
immediately before this [..] threatening to
knock his Brains out; that Garnett then took
out two Chissels from a Bean set in the Room
both which he charged the deced to have broke
to which the deced sayed your Puppy you cannot
I make them good again that Garnett then took
one of the broken Chissels & sword he would cut
the deced down with it: that Dept. [..] Stippes between
the deced Garnet in order to present mischief
[..] and presently afterwards Garnett took up a
large Carpenters Placed that lay near third of upwards of
two feet in length with which he Struck the
deceased upon theleft side of his Head [..] thethe
leftTemple near the Ear with great violenced
and knocked the deced down therewith: that the
deced was Speechless [..] Whilst Dept. stayed there [..] was abt. sd. Minute
when Dept. went to [..] Deceasd's wife That in Dept. Return
out time aberits [..] his pohe saying oh where is
my Wife & Deft. never heard him Speake afterwards
