Poor of the Parish of Saint Brides

Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields in
the County of Middlesex
and to every of them.

WHEREAS Complaint hath been made unto Us, two
of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the City of
London and Liberties thereof, One being of the Quorum, by
the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Saint Brides
London, That Edward Somerton< no role > Elizabeth< no role > his Wife
and their Child Elizabeth< no role > aged one Year are
lately come to reside in their said Parish, not having obtain'd
any legal Settlement there, and are likely to become
chargeable thereto, unless timely prevented, which Com-
plaint We the said Justices, upon due Proof made thereof,
as well upon the Oath of the said Edward Somerton< no role >
as otherwise, do adjugde to be true; and We do also ad-
judge the last legal Settlement of the said Edward Somerton< no role >
Elizabeth< no role > his Wife and their said Child
to be in the said Parish of Saint Giles
and that thitherto they ought by Law to be sent.

These are therefore in His Majesty's Name to will and
require you the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Brides
London, forthwith to remove and Convey the said Edward
Somerton with Elizabeth his Wife and their said Child
from and out of your said Parish, unto the said Parish of
Saint Giles
And them deliver unto the Church-Wardens and Over-
seers of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, together
with this our Order, who is and are hereby required to re-
ceive and provide for them according to Law. Given
under Our Hands and Seals, this Twelfth
Day of November One Thousand Seven Hundred
and Fifty Seven
