The Information of John Roper< no role > taken before me this
21st. day of June 1758

Who being or Oath says that he is servant to Mr. Benjamin
Dovington
< no role > at the Castle in Kings Street Guild Hall [..] Victualler
thaton or about the 22d. of March last, a Person come to his said
Master's House about 8 o'Clock in the Evening, and this
Informant says that he Lighted the said Person into
the Honey, and this Informt. says that the said Persons
called for a Tankard of Beer, And this Informant
farther says that he then asked his Master Mr. Dorington
if he should carry the Gentleman a Silver Tankard, that
his Master answered Yes, and this Informant Farther
says that, the then carried the said Person a Quart of
Beer in a Silver Tankard, and that [..] he then sent this
Informt. for the Newespapers, that he carried him the Newes
Paper, and this Informt. Farther says it a Hackney Coachme.
came into his masters House & asked this Informt. if
there was any Company in Ye. fore Room, to which this
Informt. replyed Yes, one Gentleman, and this
Infomt. Farther any that on going into the Room where
he left ye. person aforesd. to whom he had carried a
Quert of Beer in a Silver Tankard, he found both Person
and Tankard gone, the Window [..] up and the Curtains
drawn Clase and this Infomt. farther says that he has
since seen a Person who calls himself John Mc. Kelvie
and that he is very positive yt. ye. sd. John Mr. Kelvie is the
Identical Person to whom this Informt. delivered the
Silver Tankard aforesd, and this Informt. farther says yt. engeing
into the Room he found the Tankard Beer Flung and do the
Grate
