Informations taken before John King< no role > Esqr . Cornor for the
City of London touching the Death of Elizabeth Finch< no role >
the 25th May 1754 .

Henry Cleaver< no role > Taylor a prison in Ludgate This Informant on his
Oath Saith, that on Thursday the 23d. of May 1754. about a quarter
before 7 in the Evening As he was coming out of the Collar and
going up Stairs, he said Mrs. Finch the Deceased just before him
and saw her give a Spring or jump with her hand on her breast
And fell down flat on her face then saw a great Quantity of
Blood as if came from her face, Says that she never spoke a
Word, But heard a Voice say it is done but who it came from
this Informant knows not, Says then he went and informd
the person that keeps the Tap, That he believed Finch had Killd
his Wife, further says that one Saturday Night Mrs. Finch was
to have staid in the prison all Night, But on a Sudden she
went to the Turnkey and desired to be let out; for it would be the
means of Saving two Lives; And likewise heard her say that
her Husband was determined to Minder her and himself to

Addison Fouch< no role > Turnkey This Informant on his Oath saith that
on Thursday Evening the 23d. of May 1754 he was at the Katch
belonging to Ludgate prison, when One Bates came & informd
him that Finch he believed had Murdered his Wife, Says upon
that he went and saw her Laying at the bottom of the Stairs
And presently Finch came down Stairs and said to this Informt.
Mr. Fench I have done it, he said what have you done, Why
says he I have Murdered my Wife and pulld out Razor, and
said here is the Razor and May take it, Says about two
Months age Mrs. Finch came to him to let her out Else she
should be Murdered by her Husband.
