Depont. Thomas Hill< no role >
for himself Saith That this Indictmt. being tryed
in this Honble Constable the last Sessions. the Deft was by the Jury
Found Guilty of the sd. Indictmt. And this Court was the pleased to
Respite the Defts Recognizance to this present Sessions, in order
for the Deft to Endeavour to Accordance this Affair with the prosecuting
And this Depont. further Saith that in pursuance of such Intention
he this Depont. hath since Offered the sd. Prosecutrix Six Guineas
for a General Release of this Indictmt. which she refused acceptance
off, And this Depont. is still Ready to pay the same for that purpose:
and this Depont. Catharine Roderkirk for herself Saith
that the Deft Christian Roderkirk< no role >

about a Fortnight
ago Actually Sett out to go Lisbon
in pursuit of a Considerable Deft due to him, which
he was Advised was Doubt all and this Depont. hath nice
Reced a Letter from the sd. Defendent. from the Downes that the wind
had bound him fot he Present, and this Depont. Saith that the Pursuit
of the abovenamed Debt. & no other Cause was the Reason of the sd.
Defendt. so Going to Lisbon
that the & Apprehended that this Indictment
I said be easily Agreed by his Bayle with the presecutrix in the
Absence of the sd. Defendt. & this Depont. verily believes he will Returne
to England as soon as this sd. Business in Relation to the sd. Debt.
is over
