of the said City and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the
King Assigned to keep the peace of our chid Said Lord the King within the
said City and also to hear and determine divers Felonies Trespasses and
other Misdeeds Comitted within the said City
Whereas by an Order or Pass Warrant under the Hands & Seals of two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for the City of London
(one being of the
Quorum) bearing Date the twenty sixth Day of January last Mary Lee< no role >
Wife
of Saml. Lee< no role >
who was run away from her and their Child Mary< no role >
aged
two years were sent and delivered by the Church Wardens & Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
London unto th Overseers of
the Precinct of Saint Catherine
in the County of Middlesex
upon the Oath of
the said Mary Lee< no role >
and other Circumstances that the last legal Settlement of
her said Husband was in the said precinct by the descripcon of the Parish of Saint Katherine near the Tower
Ans now upon hearing the Petition & Appeal of the [..] Overseers of
the poor, of the precinct of St Catherine afd. agt. the said Warrant & Judgment
of the said two Justices in the presence and hearing of the Churchwardens &
Overseers of the poor
of the said Parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
And
having heard what could be alledged on either, Side by the respive Churchwardens
and Overseers their Council & Witnesses in & concerning the premesd. It is
Ordered by this Court that the said Warrant & Judgment of the said two
Justices be and the same is hereby Confirmed and that the said Mary Lee< no role >
& her said Child be kept & maintained by the Overseers of the poor of the sd
precinct,
until they can free themselves from the Charge thereof by due
Course of law.
