The further Examination of James Bye< no role >
taken upon Oath the 14th day of June 1745 .

Saith that he this Examt. with Sarah Bannister < no role > alias
Lambert < no role > alias Petbury < no role > , went on Shave Tuesday last
from Cross gate Alley , White Cross Street , wth Intent to Robb,
And in Leather Lane near Hatton Garden between 9 & 10
a Clock in the Eveng, they Saw Some Shoe within the
Sash of a Shop, which Sash this Examt. lifted up, and
took out a Pair of Mens Shoes that had being lately hoel
Pieced, & afterwards he put in his Arms & took down
two pair of Worsted Damask Womens Shoes all which
he gave to the above Sarah, then he attempted to Reach
down more but could not, so he lifted the Sash higher
up, & got in at the Window, which the above Sarah kept
a look out, then this Examt. gave her out a Piece of
Silver Lace, & three pair more of Worsted Damask
Shoes, & after attempted to get but being distrubed
he had only time to take an Odd Shoe, of the same Sort,
wch, he likewise gave her out, and then came out him
self, & returned to Cross gate alley aforesaid wth the Shoes
& Lane, where they Staid untill the next Morning,
when the abovesaid Sarah Pawn'd part of the Womans
Shoes & Sold the remained wth the Silver Lane, as She
told this Examt. the whole for nine or tenn Shillings
except the Mans Shoes which they Sold for abt. tenn
pence, all which money they divided between them
