One Elizabeth Nicholls< no role > This name instance is in set 1683. having at the last Sessions of Oyer and
Terminer holden for the County of Middx at Hicks hall pleaded
Not guilty to an Indictment agt. her for unlawfully conspiring
with Edward Bygrave< no role > to charge one William Frankland< no role > of
havinga felonycomitted a felony, It was by the Court Ordered
that she should [..] be comitted & remain in Newgate untill she
found Suretys before John Poulson< no role > Esqr . a Justice of peace (who
lives in Great Kirby street near Hatton Garden ) for her psonal
appearance to try her traverse at the next Session, And that
forty eight hours notice of the Bayl should be given to the said
Frankland and also to Mr. John Higgs< no role > whose Name is indorsed
as [..] the first Witness upon the Back of the Indictment, I have been
told that Mr. Higgs saith that he is not concerned but that you
are concerned in the affair, therefore I write this to acquaint
you of the matter that you may forth with apply to Mr. Poulson to
prevent the said Eliz: Nicholls< no role > from being let out of Newgate
by giveing insufficient Bayl, I am
