Martha Maule< no role > Wife of James Maule< no role > the Defendant Maketh Oath that her said
Husband is a Prisoner in the Fleet Prison in Execution and is reduced to so much
Poverty that he is not able to appear at the present Session to Plead to or
try the Indictment found against him And this Deponent further
Saith that James Brown< no role > a Material Witness for the said Defendant
in this Cause (and without whose Testimony the said Defendant
cannot Safely put himself upon the Tryal of the said Indictment as
this Deponent verily beleives) is now also a prisoner in the said
Fleet Prison And Saith that her said Husband is wholly unable
to bring a Writt of Habeas Corpus to have the benefit of the said James
Browns Evidence.

the 1st. day of June 1742 .
