Court in the Old Baily he this Examinant Hood, the Elder and Younger and Steadman did Steal four or five Flats of Lead over the Doors
and this Examinant to other with the said, Hood the Younger and Elder and Stedman
did Steal four or five Flats of Lead near Mason Stairs by the Prank side
in Southwark and he this Examinant together with Hood the Younger
and Elderdid Steal from the Faulcon in the Burrough of
Southwark A Pewter Sign
And he this Examinant together with the said Stedman and Fidling did
Steal from a House near the yorkshire Grey in the Kings Road abt.
four Hundred Pounds weight of Lead but the particular days and
times when the said Lead and other things were stolen (except the days
and times before mentioned) he this Examinant cannot now recollect
but beleives the same to be within the space of Eleven Months last past
And this Examinant further Saith that all the said Lead so stolen as
aforesaid amounting to Five Thousand Five Hundred Pounds Weight
and upwards (except one Parcell) were sold to Thomas Wilks< no role > at the
George Alehouse in Fleet Lane London for Nine Shillings & four pence
a Hundred Weight And this Examinant further Saith that the
Head mentioned in this Examination to be stolen from the Bell
Inn in Warwick lane London was taken in the Night time by the
Advice & Privity of the said Thomas Wilks< no role > who well knew as this
Examinant verily beleivs the same to be stolen as well as all the
other Lead mentioned in this Examination to be sold to the said
Thomas Wilks< no role > and the rather this Examinant hath reason for
such his beleif the said Wilks used to sit up on Nights to
receive and purchase the same at whose house this Examinant &
the other Person herein mentioned to be concern in the Stealing
thereof used frequently to spend a great Part of the money
they received from him the said Wilks for the Purchase of the said
Lead
