Church-Wardens and Overseers of
the Parish of St Buttolph without

Whereas Complaint hath this Day been made
unto us two of his Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for this City, and the Liberties therefore one being of (Quor [..]
unus) by You the Church-Wardens and Overseers of it
Poor of the Parish of St Giles without Cripplegate
London, That Edward Pettyt< no role > & Mary< no role > his Wife
are lately Intruded into

your said Parish not having obtained any legal Settlement
there, and are likely to become Chargeable thereto,
by Reason of their great Poverty
unless timely prevented,
which Complaint we adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appears unto us by the Oath of the sd Edmund Pettyt< no role >
that abt Fifteen years ago he lived as a Yearly hired
servt . with Mr John Ferriss< no role > a Silk Dyer in the parish
of St Buttolph Aldgate London, one year & upwards
at ye Yearly Wages of Fifteen pounds
& have not obtain d: any subsequent Settlement. We the said
Justices are therefore of Opinion, and do adjudge the
last legal Settlement of the said Edmund Petty< no role > &
Mary his Wife to be
in the said Parish St. Buttolph without Aldgate
London and that thitherto
they ought by Law to be sent.

These are therefore in his Majesty's Name to re-
quire You to remove and convey the said Edmund
Petty & Mary< no role > his Wife
from and out of your said Parish of St Giles without
Cripplegate London , to the said Parish of
St. Buttolph without Aldgate London
and them leave with
the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or
one of them, who is and are hereby required to receive
and provide for them according to Law. Hereof fail
not, and this shall be your Warrant. Given under our
Hands and Seals the 19th Day of DecemberAnno
Domini
