and Liberties thereof at their Generall Quarter Sessions
of the Peace assembled
The Humble Petition and Appeal of the Master & Wardens of the
Company of Sadlers on behalf of themselves & the rest of the Members
of the said Company
Sheweth
That Your Petitioners Hall or Mansion House
standeth in the Parish of
St. Vedast
otherwise Foster in Foster Lane
London that the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish have rated and Assessed your
Petitioners in respect of the Poors Rate for their said Hall the sum of fifteen
Pounds and ten Shillings a Year as their Proportion towards the Relief of the
Poor of the said Parish
That Your Petitioners used to be rated but Eleven Pounds five
Shillings and four Pence & sometimes only ten Pounds & eight Shillings for
many years heretofore and that severall other of the Inhabitants of the said
Parish are not rated and assessed in the like Proportion
Your Petitioners therefore conceiving themselves
aggrieved Humbly pray your Lordship and Worships
that you will be pleased to relieve your Petitioners in
the Premisses and order the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Vedast otherwise
Foster and all other Persons concerned to attend this
Court & produce their severall Books of Rates and
Assessments and stand to and abide the Determination
of this Court touching the Merritts of this Appeal
And Your Petitioner will ever Pray Etc
