The Examinacon of Samuel

day of January 1732 before Sr.
Wm. Billars< no role > Knt . and Alderman
of the City of London who deposeth
As follows

This Examinant saith that he at severall
times [..] small parcells of Mercery Goods as
he verily beleives from Mr. Fowls at his
Lodgings at Mrs. Launder's a Peruke maker in
Cock Alley upon Ludgate Hill & the said Mr.
Sarah at the Same time ordered this Examinant
to carry them to the sign of the three Compasses
near Henry Lane Markett
in Pump Street [..] leave them there with
same Person of the house for one Mr. Peter
[..] a Fench Weaver And this
Examinant saith he never had any suspicion of
the said Goods being stolen or clandestinely came
by but imagin'd to might come honestly by them for
that he had sent for him in as publick & open
a manner as any other Person might to send
him on a Message or Errand & Always delivd.
the said parcells to him openly in the Barber's
Shop nor ever seemed to deliver any parcell
to this Examinant in a Private or clandestine
way And this Examinant further saith he never
went with any such parcell of Goods to any Person
or place whatsoever for the said Mr. Fowle
Except to the said three Compasses and saith
that the severall times he carried such
