The Information of Anne Love< no role > of Ely Court in the parish of St. Andrews Holborn
Wido . taken upon Oath & acknowledg'd before Me this fifth day of February 1732

This Informant saith, yt. on Sunday But being the fourth day of this instant Febry about one of
the Clock in the afternoon, she this Informt. went as usual to Visit Mr. Duncombe who lived at
No 3 up four pair of Stairs in Tanfeild Court in ye. Temple , And after this Informt. had Knockt
at her Chamber door (wch was, then fast) for some times & finding no body any redering or
Coming to open the same, this Informt. went away to one Mrs. Rymers at the lower End
of the King's Bench Walks in ye. Temple aforesd. & having Acquainted her withwhather
being at Mr. Duncomb's Chambers & yt. she cod. not make any body hear to Lett her in
the sd Mr. Rymer went with this Informt. about two of the Clock in the afternoon of the
same day (being Sunday) to the sd Mr Duncombe's Chambers where she again Knockt
at the door for a considerable times but finding that No body came to open it [..]
this Informt. thereupon Conjestue'd that the Young Servt. Maid had been gone or was Sent out
on some Errand, yt. the old Maid was dead & the Mrs. Duncombe herselfunderwas Unable to come
& open the door, And whilst this Informt. & the sd. Mrs Rymer were under these Apprehen-
sions & Laundress some of stairs, who seeing this Informt. Knocking at the Chamber
door, this Informt. told the sd. Laundress yt she wd. not make any body hear, Where upon
the sd. Laundress said that she had the keys of the opposite Garrett, by wch she cod. get
out of one of the windows into the Gutter & then come toMrs. Duncomb'sWidow that looks
into Mrs Duncomb's Chambers & open the same by breaking one of the Pames of Glass
& after the sd Laundress had Pform'd the same & paw'd thesd Mrsdoor of Mrs Duncomb's
Chamber to this Informt: & the sd: Mrs. Rymer (Who had been staying there for some time)
they went forward into the sd. Chambers with the sd. Laundress, & in the Entry thereof saw the Young
Servant lying dead in her Bed with her throat Cut & in going a little further into mother Roome
also saw the old Servant Maid Betty lying dead in her Bed after wch they went to Mrs Duncomb's
