The Examinacon of Henry Warne< no role > Servt .
to Messrs. Hoole & Brewer Stationers in
Ludgate Street London taken this
fifth day of June 1730 touching the
death of Thomas Bennett< no role >

This Examinant saith That on Tuesday the second
day of this Instant Jane Edward Lee< no role > (the prisoner) having
a Load of paper to deliver at the Shop of this
Deponents Masters aforemenconed did accordingly
sett his Cart about in order to deliver the same
And this Deponent saith that there was roome
sufficient left in the said Street for any Cart
or Coach to pass & repass without touching
or disturbing the Horse in the Cart of the sd.
Edwd. Lee< no role > and that severall Carts did accordingly
pass by the sd. Horse And this Deponent saith
That he this Exaiant being behind the said
Cart did hear the said Edwd: Lee< no role > call out to
the Deced & a Coachman who drove before the
said Cart of the deced that they would hold off
of the Horses head And this Examinant further
saith that he saw the Sd. Edwd. Lee< no role > go up to the
deced & push at him with his hand Whereupon the
deced struck the sd. Edward Lee< no role > with his Whip
and thereupon the sd. Edward Lee< no role > struck the
Deced with his fist on the face or head & the
Deced thereupon fell to the Ground with his head
directly under & close to thesaidWheel of the Cart
which the sd. Deced drove But this Exaiant saith
that he did not see Wheele go over the deced
but heard the Noise of the Deced's head being
rushed
