The Exaiacons of Samuel Hammond< no role > and
Mary Morin< no role > taken on their Oathes before
me Sr. George Merttins< no role > Knt . Etc the 23d.
Day of October 1723 .

These Exaiants Say That Tuesday the Twenty Secondthree
instant they these Exaiants haveing been for one Hannah
Maycock
< no role > (in a Street near ye Stand ) to Sitt up wth a Sick
Woman who lodgeth in the same house wth. the Exainant
Mary Morin, and Say that in their Return from the
Strand with the said Hannah May with Two Gentlement
mett them at or near the Door of the Kings head Tavern
near Chancery Lane , who Stept this Exaiant Mary
Morin & ye said Hannah May cont & Said they Should go with them [..]
[..] , but the said Exaiant Samuel Hammond
opposed them & Said they Should not go; but one of the said
Gentlement who held of ye said Hannah Maycock & said he
would go wth her, & She imediately calling him Capt, then
held him thatwhereshe was going to Sitt up wth. a Sick Woman
and he also went wth her & these Exaiants And these Exaiants
further Say Thatbeingthey being come into the House
where the Sick woman liveth (being in ye Old Baily ) the
Said John Stanley< no role > & Hannah Maycock being in the
Kitchen, & they the Exaiants having left them together,
they imediately heard ye said Hannah cry out Murther,
whereupon they run towards the Kitchen & found him there
with his Sword drawn who opposed their coming in & Swore
he would Kill any Person that Should attempt to come in
but by fair meanes, prevailing wth. him to Suffer them to go
in, found ye said Hannah upon ye Ground who Said he had
Stabbed her And they perceiving a Wound in her breast imediately
Sent for a Surgeon, And about half an have afterwards [..]
[..] the said Hannah Maycock dyed.
